Iran: Campaigning for presidential elections ends

The legal time for campaigning for the presidential elections ended throughout Iran on Thursday morning, just 24 hours ahead of the start of voting, IRNA reported. According to the elections law, candidates and their followers are obliged not to carry out any campaign activities during the last 24 hours before the start of polling.
The 10th presidential elections will start across Iran on Friday June 12 at 8:00 am (0330 GMT).
In addition to the incumbent president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad who is seeking a second four-year term, Iran's last prime minister Mir-Hossein Mousavi, a former speaker of parliament, Mehdi Karroubi and the Secretary of the Expediency Council, Mohsen Rezaie are vying for the public's votes.
