Iran official says Israeli media attempting to sabotage relations with Turkey
Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid Reza Assefi on Tuesday dismissed any link between Iran's presidential election and nuclear talks with the European states.
"Iran's presidential election has nothing to do with nuclear talks. Election is a domestic issue and we will not let any foreign country interfere with it," Assefi told local and foreign reporters at his weekly press briefing.
Asked about recent remarks by the Turkish prime minister against Iran in Tel Aviv, he said such remarks have been mainly released by the Israeli media. "I doubt Turkey's prime minister would talk about Iran in an inappropriate language. Iran and Turkey enjoy good relations. "The Zionist regime media have undoubtedly made mischief."
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan was quoted as telling the Israeli President, Moshe Katsav, that Turkey was worried about Iran's nuclear program.
