Iran sends warning over military intervention in Syria
Iran's Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi has assured that any foreign military intervention in Syria would lead to the "explosion" of the entire region. "I'm confident that any military action against Syria will blow up the entire region... A military intervention does not solve any problem, especially because the Syrian situation differs from that of Libya, seeing the country's sole role is fighting Israel," Salehi said, pointing out that "Syria is now paying the price of its resistance."
During an interview broadcast on Hizbollah's Al-Manar TV station late Saturday night, the Iranian minister expressed his surprise over the Arab League's actions toward Syria in the UN Security Council, at a time when the observer mission was still performing its job in Syria.
Furthermore, Salehi pointed out that Russia and China are aware of the Western project of "fragmentizing" the region. "The Russians are aware that the Western states are interfering in the Middle East to draw a new map of the region," he said.
On the Iranian sanctions, Salehi stated that Iran is studying the worst case scenario, and is preparing itself for any confrontation.

Dear first commentator,
You know very well, that it is not the composition or the purity of blood that determines the decision of what kind of supportis given to different national liberation movements. You know that Iran and Syria for good reasons ( Syria being a front line state) have an strategic alliance, in other words, for Iran the protection of Syria is an existantial question.
Really! The blood of Alawites is far more precious than that of Lebanese Shiites? Where were them brave Iranians each time Israel bombed Lebanon? How come they didn't "ignite" the region? Iranians are good for idle threats, and Assad, who also sits idle during Israeli invasions, is nothing but a coward capable of only killing civilians. This is the moment for Saudi Arabia and Turkey to strike Syrian army to level the playing field.
