Iraqi President Jalal al Talabani left Amman on Wednesday to Iraq after receiving medical treatment at Al Hussein Medical Center. Al Talibani was admitted to Al Hussein Medical Center in Amman two weeks ago.
Earlier Wednesday, Jordan's King Abdullah II met Talabani.
According to Petra news agency, the Jordanian king and Talabani discussed Jordanian-Iraq relations and mechanisms of activating them in all fields. Abdullah stressed "the need to achieve security and stability in Iraq to enable it to play a vital role on the Arab and international levels."
The two leaders reviewed moves and efforts underway to ensure the success of the Arab summit, which will be held in the Saudi capital Riyadh later this month.
"President Talabani arrived at the airport at 3.15 pm (1215 GMT) and was met by officials of the Kurdish regional government and Iraqi and Kurdish parties," Azad Jindian from Talabani's Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) said, according to AFP. During his stay in Jordan, Talabani dismissed reports that he was suffering from heart or liver problems, and his doctors have always insisted that his life was not in danger.
