Iraqi President Saddam Hussein on Monday replaced Industry and Mines Ministry Adnan Abdul Majid with Deputy Director of Military Manufacturing Corporation Myassar Raja Shallah, according to the official Iraqi News Agency (INA).
Majid has been appointed to the presidency’s civil reserve department as consultant, said the agency and reports.
"Majid has been relieved of his functions and designated a role in the department of civil reserve in the presidential office," said a decree from President Hussein, quoted by the official agency.
"Majid will keep all the privileges from which he benefited while he headed up the industry ministry," it said.
According to AFP, the following is Iraq's new government list after President Saddam Hussein's appointment of Shallah, and Naji Sabri as foreign minister on Saturday in place of Tareq Aziz, who had occupied the post on a temporary basis:
