Jordan's King Abdullah II linked achieving progress in reviving the Middle East peace process with Israel's decision to take practical measures towards achieving peace on the basis of establishing two states and commitment to meet the necessary conditions to end conflict in the region.

In an interview with Alghad daily newspaper published Sunday, the Jordanian monarch called on Israel to show its intentions towards the Palestinians. The king warned that the situation in the Palestinian arena is moving into dangerous tracks that threatens the unity and future of the Palestinian people and called the Palestinians to "resort to logic."

Abdullah also renewed Jordan's refusal for the suggestions to establish a Jordanian – Palestinian confederation and considered it a "conspiracy" on both, adding that Jordan will not be part of such conspiracy. The king affirmed that Jordan has a political, strategic and security interest in the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
