Kerry in Iraq to press for co-operation on Syria
US Secretary of State John Kerry has arrived in Iraq for an unannounced trip.
According to the BBC, he's there to press Iraq for more co-operation on preventing planes from carrying weapons in to Syria.
The US is concerned that Iraq has been turning a blind eye to flights from Tehran to Syria that could be carrying weapoms. Iran claims that the flights are transporting humanitarian aid.
It's Kerry's first visit to the country since he took office and comes after a four day trip accompanying President Obama. They visited Israel, Palestine and Jordan.
Kerry will also be pushing for provincial elections in Anbar and Nineveh to go ahead without delay, the BBC reports.
