At Least 49 Palestinians Hurt in Clashes
At least 49 Palestinians were wounded by Israeli gun fire on Friday in scattered clashes in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, the day after Israel's bombing raids on Palestinian targets, reported (AFP)

A gun battle erupted in the West Bank town of Bethlehem between armed Palestinians dressed in civilian clothing and Israeli soldiers posted at Rachel's Tomb, a Jewish shrine at the northern edge of the city, witnesses said.
At least fifteen youths were shot and wounded there, some with live ammunition, in clashes sparked when crowds hurled rocks and bottles at the soldiers
At least one Palestinians was seriously injured after being shot in the head with a live bullet, witnesses said.
The soldiers at Rachel's Tomb also came under fire from the Palestinian refugee camp of Aidah, not far from the scene of the clashes.
In the Gaza Strip, five Palestinians were shot with life bullets in fighting near the Kefar Darom Jewish settlement.
In the flashpoint West Bank town of Hebron, eight Palestinians were wounded by both rubber-coated steel bullets and live ammunition fired by Israeli soldiers on stone-throwing demonstrators.
Clashes also erupted to the north of Ramallah, scene of the bloody lynching Thursday of Israeli soldiers by an enraged Palestinian crowd that triggered the air strikes on targets in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
Some 400 Palestinians protesting at the town's north entrance stoned Israeli troops, who replied with rubber bullets, while witnesses also reported a gunbattle between soldiers and armed Palestinians.
Four Palestinians were wounded in Ramallah, one with live ammunition, while rubber-coated bullets hit the others, witnesses said.
Another eight were wounded in fighting in the northern West Bank city of Jenin, four with live rounds and the rest with rubber bullets.
Three other people were shot with life rounds in the Arab village of Yabad near Jenin, according to the Jenin Hospital.
In the northern West Bank town of Salfit six Palestinians were hurt, two with live bullets.
In Jerusalem, Israeli police and Palestinians briefly clashed at the entrance to the Old City, but there were no reports of injuries.
