MoICT wins the Most Society Impacting Network Award at Cisco Networkers 2010
The Ministry of Information and Communications Technology (MoICT) recently won the Most Society Impacting Network at Cisco Networkers 2010 Bahrain, a global event which was recently held for the first time in the Middle East and included an Invitation Awards Ceremony.
MoICT was honored for Jordan's National Broadband Network NBNproject, which is part of MoICT's “Connecting Jordanians Initiative” (CJI). The initiative aims at contributing to the growth of the educational, social, and economic and health system in Jordan through a broadband fiber network that supports the rapid growth of network traffic demand at high quality and speed, as well as connects the various public sectors together.
Cisco's Innovation Awards came to recognise and reward organisations that truly embrace new and advanced technologies whilst leading the field in delivering real and tangible benefits for business and society. The categories include; Most Innovative Data Centre Project; Service Provider offering; Mobility Project; Unified Communications (UC) & Collaboration Project; Business Video Project and also Most Society Impacting Network. Moreover, the judging panel comprises six leading experts in the information, communications, technology (ICT) industry.

MoICT is collaborating with Cisco on a three-year project to build the Cisco IP Next- Generation Network to implement (CJI).
