Nashwa Al Ruwaini to participate as juror for second year in the 2010 International Digital Emmy® Awards
Arab media personality Nashwa Al Ruwaini will participate as juror for the second year in a row in the 2010 International Digital Emmy® Awards in the category of Children and Young People. This is the fifth year that the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences host the awards which recognizes excellence in content created and designed for viewer interaction and/or delivery on a digital platform.
Three Emmy® Awards for Digital Program-Fiction, Non-Fiction and Children and Young People will be presented during a ceremony at MIPTV on April 12, 2010 in Cannes, France.
The International Digital Emmy® Awards celebrates the world’s best examples of innovative content for any interactive platform including mobile, internet or interactive TV. The awards are a partnership between MIPTV, the international content market for interactive media, and the International Academy of Television Arts and Science, the largest organization of global broadcasters, with members from nearly 70 countries and over 400 companies. Nashwa is also a member of the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
Over the past 20 years, Nashwa has become an accomplished media personality with her talk show, ‘Nashwa’, and her own media production company, Pyramedia, which has offices in London, Cairo, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and New York and has produced hits such as ‘Millions’ Poet’ and ‘Prince of Poet’s’ TV live reality TV shows on Abu Dhabi TV. Nashwa has dedicated her life to helping the social structure of the family through her talk show as she tackles important and often taboo subjects relating to the family. She is also the founder of the Nashwa Foundation, which was established to help better the lives of women and children.
More recently, Nashwa has won the prestigious Feigenbaum Leadership Award and was awarded the Gold prize at the Tenth Gulf Radio and Television Production Festival held in Bahrain for her show ‘Nashwa’. She was also nominated for ‘Best Entertainer’ at the 2008 Rose d’Or Awards in Switzerland and in the Best Media Personality category at the Association of International Broadcasters, UK.
