National committee reviews initiatives for implementing Census 2010
His Excellency Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy and Chairman of Supreme Committee of Census, headed the second meeting of Census in Dubai. The committee reviewed several initiatives that are aimed at the timely implementation of the Census 2010 project. The meeting was attended by representatives pf federal and local departments.
The Committee discussed the preparations for naming state administrative units, which will contribute to creating the UAE Atlas. The Atlas features maps and data related to services, telecommunication, transportation, schools, buildings, soil, geology and topography. It also includes maps on population, agriculture, industry, commerce, trade exchange and geography.
The committee discussed coordination with media across the UAE to support the census project; and frameworks for training the personnel working on the Census. The technical questionnaires of the Census was reviewed and discussed efforts of the GCC to prepare a media plan for Census 2010.
