Morocco's population will jump by 21% in 2010-2030, driven by a huge increase in the number of middle agers and elderly. These gains will be partially offset by a drop in the number of those aged 17-29 years. Emigration is the main reason for this decline. Fertility rates will fall as more young women enter the work force and marry later in life. High rates of emigration means that more than 3 million people of Moroccan descent now live outside their home country.
