Two near-simultaneous car bombs ripped through a Baghdad bus station on Wednesday killing at least 16 people. According to the AP, an Iraqi police official said the car bombs went off Wednesday inside a bus station in the western Baghdad neighborhood of Bayaa.
The police official and an official at Baghdad's al-Yarmouk Hospital said at least six people have been killed, while 25 others were wounded.
Security officials said a spate of other attacks, including a suicide car bombing in the northern city of Mosul, killed at least five members of Iraq's security forces, a Shiite pilgrim and another civilian. The pilgrim died and eight others were hurt, all men, by a roadside bomb in the southern Baghdad district of Zafaraniyah, the officials said.
