Report: Iran-Hizbullah cell planned to assassinate Israeli DM
The Kuwaiti newspaper "Al Jareeda", citing senior Israeli sources said, Israel thwarted an assassination operation targeting its defense minister Ehud Barak while he was in Singapore earlier this week.
The newspaper said the Mossad informed the authorities in Singapore about an Iran-Hizbullah cell, which planned to assassinate Barak, who visited Singapore earlier this week and participated in an air industry exhibition.
The sources said that the cell had gained accurate information about the agenda of Barak and planned to assassinate him at the hotel he stayed in. It said the security forces of Singapore were able to dismantle an explosive device aimed at targeting a convoy of Barak.
This report comes as earlier this week, Israel blamed Iran as standing behind attempts to attack its diplomats in Georgia, India and Thailand.

Interesting how the Israelis know of these various plots, are able to thwart them, even point the finger?
