A rocket fired by Palestinians in the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip struck southern Israel on Saturday, causing no injuries, the Israeli military said. The rocket, which landed near the Israeli city of Ashkelon, was one of a few to hit the Jewish state since a Jan. 18 truce with Hamas ended 22 days of fighting in the Gaza Strip.

The rocket was fired from the north of Gaza Strip.
