This is simply not true...under SAUDI law, I, a Saudi woman, was able to file civil charges of domestic violence (assault) against my husband with the police. My charges were sensitively investigated by the Department of Investigation and Prosecution, and they filed criminal charges against my husband. A judge heard the case, and based on a medical report from the hospital sentenced my husband to 3 days in prison, and based on testimony of my son who witnessed my husband threatening to kill me, the judge sentenced my husband to 10 lashes. (I don't approve of violent punishment.)
