Saudi Industrial Property Authority (MODON) honors Dr. Hashim Yamani
Under the auspices of HE Mr. Abdullah Ahmed Zainal, Minister of Commerce and Industry and Chairman of the Saudi industrial Property Authority (MODON), MODON held a ceremony honoring H.E Dr. Hashim Abdullah Yamani, the former Minister of Commerce and Industry in acknowledgement and recognition of his efforts exerted in the establishment of MODON and Presidency of its Board of Directors during its first and second sessions. In addition, members of the former Board of Directors were also honored in the presence of Dr. Tawfig F. Alrabiah, Director General of MODON, current members of the Board of Directors and officials in MODON.
His Excellency, the Minister praised the works performed by HE Dr. Hashim Abdullah Yamani, for the purpose of developing and upgrading industry and the industrial cities to the best levels. H.E the minister praised the efforts exerted by Dr. Yamani in the development of the first corner stone for the national strategy of industry. Dr. Yamani had a major role in eliminating obstacles that confronted the industry to include his claim and seek to expand, increase and re-establish the number of industrial cities during his tenure at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry since 1995 to 2008, while leading MODON’s Board of Directors since its inception in 2001.
HE the Minister added that the efforts exerted by HE Dr. Hashim with regards to bringing out and developing MODON have contributed to drive the industry higher in the Kingdom.
For his part, His Excellency Dr. Hashim Abdullah Yamani thanked the Saudi industrial Property Authority (MODON) for this fine initiative, and hoped further successes for MODON in elevating the industrial sector into the ranks of developed nations.
The audience was briefed on the report of the achievements accomplished by MODON during the year 2008 such as: initiating the implementation of projects at a cost of 1505 million Saudi Riyals for the development and re-establishment of industrial cities, signing of contracts for the development of 4 new industrial cities on a total area amounting to 16 million square meters and an estimated growth of 30% in terms of area compared to the achievements made in the past 40 years.
