Six Iraqis Injured in Explosion, Baghdad Blames Iran
Six Iraqi civilians were wounded Wednesday in an explosion in Baghdad which the Iraqi authorities attributed to Iranian agents, according to reports.
"Around 9:00 p.m. (1800 GMT), an explosion occurred in Baghdad, wounding six who are currently receiving medical care," CNN quoted the official INA news agency as saying, adding that buildings were also damaged.
MBC quoted Iraqi officials as charging that “Iran’s collaborators,” were behind the attack.
Baghdad and Tehran have been subject to exchanged mortar attacks reportedly carried out by opposition groups harbored by both countries who fought a bitter eight-year old in the eighties.
Authorities are investigating the blast, said CNN, adding that no cause for the blast was immediately given.
Earlier this week, two Iraqis were killed and 27 others were injured by a bomb blast in downtown Baghdad. - Albawaba.com
