SPIN Jordan to Broadcast Special Documentary in Honor of Gaza
In light of the recent calamities in Gaza, SPIN Jordan recently announced the special broadcast of a radio documentary titled Gaza Dying, which is the culmination of the efforts of several local and regional artists who have come together to voice their protest against the escalating violence plaguing the Palestinian city.
Airing today, Jan. 20 at 6:00pm, during SPIN Jordan's "Zoo Crew," Gaza Dying will bring several renowned artists from the region, such as Ramallah Underground, Checkpoint 303, EP and Farah Siraj, to name a few.
“The artists collaborating on this project voice their anger and sorrow at the situation in Gaza using powerful music and lyrics in a message that will transcend language and culture,” said SPIN Jordan's Joy Dabeet, Station Manager. “Media and music are two powerful tools of getting a message across, and this documentary combines both. We hope to syndicate this documentary to some stations in Europe and the UK through our contacts in the industry.”
SPIN Jordan is a national radio station geared towards audiences of ages 15 to 34. Founded in 2008, the station is owned by the Advanced Radio Broadcasting Company, which is a joint venture between Accelerator Technology Holdings – a Jordanian private equity investment firm focused on investing in the best of breed ventures in the ICT value chain in the Arab World – and Communicorp Group Ltd. – an Irish based media organization with over 50 radio stations in eight European countries. The station delivers a well researched music selection and creative, varied and highly interactive programs. Additionally, SPIN Jordan employs and trains local staff and presenters, which has quickly made SPIN Jordan a significant, relatable and integrated part of the Jordanian culture.
