Spokesman: Parliament elections reflect democratic process in Iran
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid Reza Asefi in Tehran Sunday termed the people's remarkable turnout in the 7th Majlis [parliament] elections held Friday as another "taste of the democratic process".
In reply to a question on the recent parliamentary elections, IRNA cited him as saying US officials have never been happy with elections in Iran and that some have even openly expressed their desire that very Iranians would take part in them. (Albawaba.com)
