A dreaded commander of the Haqqani network has been killed in a US drone strike in southeastern Paktika province, the governor’s office said on Thursday.
The commander, identified as Sirajuddin Khademi, was a logistics leader of the militant group and member of the Quetta Shura. Khademi allegedly provided weapons for insurgents, a statement from the governor’s office said.
It added the drone raid took place in Sar Rawza district and some weapons were also destroyed in the strike.
