Wasteco partakes in Dubai Municipality’s annual waste collection initiative in Al Aweer
Wasteco LLC, a solid waste collection and disposal service provider, has participated in an annual waste collection initiative headed by the Dubai Municipality in the Al Aweer area. This marked the first community project to be carried out by the company after it was acquired by averda, a leading regional environmental services company. Wasteco’s involvement in the activity, which was endorsed by the Dubai Municipality who understand the company’s strengths in providing waste collection and disposal service, is part of its aims to establish strong ties with the local municipalities and its commitment to a cleaner Dubai.
Wasteco provided three Tipper trucks, which hauled mostly agricultural waste (specifically trees and branches) gathered by collectors provided by Al Aweer Dubai Municipality Waste Collection and disposed them in the designated landfill areas about three kilometres away. The company has been certified by the Dubai Municipality for the transportation and safe disposal of all types of hazardous and non-hazardous solid or liquid waste, which ensured that all protocols were observed in the collection and dumping process.
“We are continually leveraging our advanced technologies and best practices to provide high quality waste management services to the Dubai market,” said Harbinder Singh, Managing Director, Wasteco. “This partnership with the Dubai Municipality underlines both our capacity as a waste collection and disposal service provider and our social awareness in the campaign for cleanliness across the Emirate. We are proud to have been part of this excellent initiative.”
Founded in 1992, Wasteco holds five waste management licenses, which allow it to render solid and liquid waste collection services including, sewage and draining collection and disposal, building cleaning, sea and shore cleaning and cleaning equipment in Ajman, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. From 2005 to 2009, the company witnessed significant growth in the UAE.
