Police have arrested an al Qaeda suspect in a Bajel district of Hodeidah province, Yemen Interior Ministry has announced. In a report published Thursday by SABA news agency, it was said that the suspect called Mohammed Abdu Saleh al-Haudali, 35, was wanted in cases of "serious crimes," including suspicion of belonging to a terrorist organization.
The security forces have exchanged fire with al-Haudali before managing to arrest him, the director of Hodeidah security office Abdul-Wahab al-Radhi said.
Yemeni Air forces have recently raided al-Qaeda in Sana'a, Abyan and Shabwa governorates killing dozens of al-Qaeda suspects from Yemen and other nationalities. After the raids, the Interior Ministry has directed its bodies and offices in all governorates to raise security alert and tighten security procedures at the major facilities and vital interests all over the country in anticipation of any castigatory operations.
