Yemen: Gunman detained after attacking US embassy
Yemeni security forces injured and detained a gunman after he opened fire at the American embassy in Sanaa late on Monday without wounding any embassy staff members, a Yemeni government official said on Tuesday.
"He is now in hospital under heavy security and will be interrogated," the official was quoted as saying by Reuters.
The attacker opened fire from an AK-47 semi-automatic rifle at the fortified compound which is guarded by a large Yemeni security force. offices appeared to be closed to the public on Tuesday morning.
