Giovanni Cernogoraz of Croatia won the Olympic gold medal Monday in men's trap shooting.

Cernogoraz earned the victory in a shootoff with Massimo Fabbrizi of Italy after both hit 146 targets out of 150 during the two days of shooting.

Fehaid Aldeehani of Kuwait also won a shootoff against Michael Diamond of Australia for the bronze medal. It was only the second medal for Kuwait in the history of the Olympics, both of them bronze.

Diamond had the lead after qualifying, but he missed five of 25 shots in the finals.
