Oussama Mellouli of Tunisia won the Olympic gold medal Friday in the men's 10-kilometer marathon swimming event.

The silver medal went to Thomas Lurz of Germany and the bronze to Richard Weinberger of Canada.

In addition to the open-water gold at Hyde Park, Mellouli won a medal in the pool earlier in these Olympics, taking the bronze in the 1,500-meter race.
