Ahmad Abu Eideh, CEO of Standard Chartered Bank and Dima Bibi, Director General of Injaz
Standard Chartered Bank, represented by Mr. Ahmad Abu Eideh, Chief Executive Officer, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with INJAZ, represented by Dima Bibi, Director General, to support Injaz in its mission to enhance the educational environment in al Reeshah region through School Adoption Programme (SAP).
The School Adoption Programme is a national programme launched under the Patronage of Her Majesty Queen Rania Al-Abdullah in May 2006 to develop the Jordanian educational sector, and help create a new ‘culture’ in which the private sector plays a major and direct role in the development of the educational system.
According to the MOU, Standard Chartered Bank will provide financial support to refurbish Al Reeshah Secondary School located 80 kilometers north of Aqaba. The renovation campaign will include all school facilities, electrical installations, painting of classrooms, doors and windows.
On this occasion, Mr. Ahmad Abu Eideh said he is proud of this cooperation that lies within the bank’s policy in supporting the social responsibility for the communities it works with. Mr. Abu Eideh also said that one of the factors that makes this initiative even more special is that employees of Standard Chartered will participate with the students to renovate the school. He emphasized that the campaign will start in the holy month of Ramadan.
On this occasion, Mrs. Dima Bibi expressed her gratitude and appreciation for Standard Chartered’s distinctive support and its continuous interest in Injaz’s various programmes. Mrs. Bibi urged banks and institutions to continue supporting Injaz, in order to offer Jordanian students a better chance towards preparing them to become productive members of the society.
