Calling themselves the 'white shrouds,' local tribesman in Syria's Deir al-Zor province are fighting ISIS back, conducting kidnappings and violent killings of militants trying to seize control.
Violence continues to erupt in the border town of Arsal. Since the Syrian war began, it spilled into Lebanon and had detrimental consequences for the entire region.
Over 44 people were killed in and around Damascus Sunday after clashes between government forces and rebels, according to the London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

The Nusra Front denied Sunday involvement in the Arsal clashes in east Lebanon, and said detained battalion commander Imad Jomaa was not a member.
Gen. Jean Kahwagi Sunday said attacks on Arsal were premeditated, refuting claims that the militant attack was driven by the detention of Imad Jomaa.
Eight soldiers from Lebanon's army were killed in overnight clashes with gunmen across the town of Arsal, close to the Syrian border.
The United States will provide Jordan an additional $84 million in aid for Syrian refugees, bringing the total U.S. humanitarian assistance to more than $388 million in Jordan, and more than $2.4 billion in total throughout Syria and the region.
The Syrian army reportedly made gains against militants close to the country's capital, Damascus. Government forces also discovered tunnels used by opposition rebels.
