Arab foreign ministers agreed in a meeting in Egypt on Thursday to form a joint Arab military force to counter growing security threats in the region, the Arab League's chief said.
Among other precious metals, platinum was up 0.6 per cent at $1,153.25 an ounce, while palladium was up 1 per cent at $770.39 an ounce.

Saudi warplanes have carried out fresh airstrikes against Yemen, hitting the northern city of Sa’ada and Ta’izz in the south, local officials and witnesses said.
Saudi state news said Yemen's President Abd-Rabbo Mansour Hadi arrived in Riyadh on Thursday, after reports the leader was in Oman.
