Abu Dhabi Department of Finance completes Certified Management Accountant course

Abu Dhabi Department of Finance recently held the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) course, which was organized by The Human Resources Division, Talents Management Section in collaboration with the Leaders UAE training center. Fifteen employees from various sections participated in the course which was held in the training rooms at the Department over a two month period. 

The CMA course was held in line with the vision of the Department of Finance, which aims to support continuous development in the workplace, in its various sections and units. The CMA Certificate offered employees specialist skills which will help them meet economic challenges resulting from globalization. This course was held under the supervision of both the manager of The Human Resources Division; Mr. Issa Abdul Rahim Al Fahim, and the Manager of Training and Development Section; Mr. Abdulla bin Hufan Al Mansouri. 

The CMA qualification is an internationally accredited advanced certificate, created by the Institute of Management Accountants. It aims to educate accountants and financial managers in order to enhance their organizations overall performance and improve their professional development allowing them to make strategic decisions. 

Commenting on this celebration, Mr. Issa Abdul Rahim Al Fahim, said: “The decision to organize this course came under the guidance of His Excellency Hamad Al-Hurr Al-Suwaidi, Chairman of the Department of Finance, and the recommendations of Senior Management, who highlighted the Department’s need to create new training opportunities, and to develop strategic plans, which would allow employees acquire new skills in various work areas, such as management, legal and accountancy.” 

He added, “I would like to congratulate all the participants; this course is a positive milestone for them and indeed for their colleagues, it has helped them to acquire valuable new skills and will help them in their overall professional development “ 

The CMA subjects are divided into two parts, the first one, “Financial planning, performance and control”, which has five sub-sections; Planning Budgeting and Forecasting, Management Performance, Cost Management, internal Control, and Professional Ethics. While the second part consists of, “Financial Decision Making” it also has five sub-sections; Financial Statement Analysis, Corporate Finance, Decision Analysis and Risk Management, Investment Decisions, and Professional Ethics.
