ADU hosts International Day, a celebration of diversity

Abu Dhabi University (ADU) hosted its annual International Day, an event which celebrates the cultural diversity of faculty and students as well as their unified commitment towards providing excellence in education.
Fourteen different nations were represented by enthusiastic members of the International Committee. Attendees meanwhile got to experience samples of each culture which included traditional foods, music and national dress.
ADU Chancellor, Dr. Nabil Ibrahim expressed his appreciation for the hard work put into organizing the event and stressed its significance.
“Abu Dhabi University prides itself on being a culturally diverse institution. This diversity is visible not only in our student body but also members of our staff and faculty, who come from many different walks of life. In addition to high standards of academia, we believe that interactions within a diverse community are vital to personal growth,” he said.
The event encouraged attendees to mingle with their fellow colleagues and peers at ADU, and to strengthen bonds and renew their commitment towards fashioning a diverse and tolerant community at ADU.

The dream began with the Charter of Abu Dhabi University in the year 2000, After three years of planning, the university opened its doors in September 2003, to an entering class of 1,000 students on its two campuses in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. Unlike other colleges and universities in the UAE, ADU undertook the measures necessary to ensure that all of the degree programs it would offer had secured accreditation from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in advance of any students enrolling in them.
ADU offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees based upon the American model of higher education.
