AED 10 million Danube BUILDMART in Bahrain Mall opens today

Danube Building Materials, the leader in construction, building materials and shop fitting industries, has opened today (October 28th, 2010) its AED 10 million 'Danube BUILDMART' showroom in Bahrain Mall, thereby marking its second retail facility in the country. The Minister of Industry & Commerce, H.E. Dr. Hassan A. Fakhro graced the opening ceremony, along with Rizwan Sajan, Chairman, Danube Building Materials, Anis Sajan, Managing Director, Danube Building Materials and other top company officials. The company further revealed that its expansion effort in Bahrain is in line with plans to consolidate its market presence in the potential-laden regional market.

Spanning 6,000 sq. ft., the new store will extend the total retail area offered by Danube to Bahrain-based customers when it opened its inaugural showroom in the Salmabad area in March 2009. Designed to cater to individual homeowners and designers, 'Danube BUILDMART' in Bahrain Mall will offer a wide range of products such as chandeliers, wall paper collections, curtains, carpets, luxury sanitary ware, Venetian blinds, wooden flooring, garden accessories, home décor and soft furnishings from international and regional vendors. The inauguration in Bahrain Mall follows the recent launch of an AED 50 million store under the same banner in Dalma Mall, Abu Dhabi.

In addition to the latest Danube BUILDMART in Bahrain, there are a total of 23 global Danube retail facilities - 16 in the UAE, one in Saudi Arabia, two each in Bahrain, Oman and India, in addition to procurement offices in China and Canada. Since the company diversified into a one-stop shop concept called 'Danube BUILDMART', it has revealed that it is looking at an initial public offering (IPO) listing in Saudi Arabia or the UAE within the next 5 years.
