Egyptian veteran actress Nabila Obeid headed the judging committee at the Muscat International Film Festival this year.

The seven-day festival, which concluded on March 29, was a huge success, and featured a host of 110 celebrities from 30 countries including international actors, directors and technicians.

Nabila said that her role as head of the judging committee was “very exhausting,” as she had a very short amount of time to watch a large number of films in time of the festival. She did however express how exciting it was to be able to view such a diverse variety of movies.

According to Elaph news, Nabila spent three weeks in Muscat to participate in the festival and to train young cinema professionals.

The well-accomplished actress was honored at the festival, which she considered a recognition of all her great achievements on the big and small screens.

In other news, Nabila said that she’s one of the actors affected by the current unstable conditions in Egypt, and has requested scenarist Hussain Mustafa Muharram to postpone her new drama until conditions have stabilized and she’s able to act again.
