Alfa, the first Lebanese mobile operator managed by Orascom Telecom, announced that its subscribers have donated $15,000 to children of the “Father Andeweg Institute for the Deaf and Mute,” one of the social associations Alfa supports as part  of its Corporate Social Responsibility Program, “Alfa 4-Life.”

The funds were raised through an SMS campaign where Alfa subscribers have donated, at least $1 to children of the Father Andweg institute, via calls and SMS to the humanitarian short code- 1004. The SMS campaign followed the "Smurf festival," the event organized by Alfa in July for children of the Father Andeweg association, on the occasion of Smurf’s 50th anniversary, to give the children the opportunity to express themselves and communicate.

Alfa Chairman & CEO, Mr. Marwan Hayek extended a sincere gratitude to all Alfa subscribers for their contribution, saying: “This initiative truly reflects the deep sense of humanity and compassion and values, it is important that we, as Lebanese citizens, hold towards our large Lebanese community.”

As part of “Alfa 4-Life,” CSR Program, Alfa fully supports CSR initiatives and programs, aiming at providing children in communication need and individuals in Lebanon, with the right to a better life.

It’s worth mentioning that “Orascom Telecom Holding” (OTH) is the international leading mobile operator in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia and counts almost 98 million subscribers.
