Bombardier logs orders for seven business jets
Bombardier Aerospace today announced that it received firm orders for five midsize Learjet 85 and two large cabin Challenger 605 jets, from multiple companies of the same group, for principal operation in Germany by Munich-based Jet Air Flug. The total value of the order is approximately $155 million US, based on the 2010 list price for typically equipped aircraft.
"Our strategy is clear: we want to combine the world's most advanced aircraft with the highest safety standards along with the world's best service. The Learjet 85 and Challenger 605 jets complement each other very well, offering the perfect range and cabin versatility. Adding these new jets to our fleet will ensure we meet the needs of our very strong existing customer base in Western Europe and Russia as well as supporting our ambitious plans into Africa," said Patrick Raftery, Group CEO, Jet Air.
"This order further emphasizes the strength of our business aircraft product portfolio, the diversity of which is truly appreciated by our customers, who can rely on Bombardier as a total business jet and services provider," said Bob Horner, Senior Vice-President, Sales,
Bombardier Business Aircraft. "We are delighted to further strengthen our longstanding relationship with Jet Air."
Challenger 605 aircraft: In service since January 2007, the Challenger 605 jet features the widest stand-up cabin of any large category business jet available today. It is equipped with the Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 avionics suite and an all new cabin electronic system. It can whisk five passengers from Munich-Dar Es Salaam or Dubai-London non-stop*, in superior comfort. Optional equipment on the Challenger 605 jet now includes the Bombardier Enhanced Vision System (BEVS), providing pilots with significantly improved situational awareness and the ability to observe runway lights and the runway environment in difficult operating conditions, such as low visibility and or darkness.
