An opening ceremony was held Monday of "Cable Jointing and Optical Fiber Splicing", a training program for the Iraqis in the field of electricity, to support the reconstruction of Iraq.
According to Petra, the ceremony was attended by Mohammad Hamouri, Assistant Managing Director of the National Electric Power Company and Matahiro Yamaguchi, Charge d'affaires ad interim of the Japanese Embassy in Amman.
The program is carried out by the Japanese government in cooperation with the National Electric Power Company (NEPCO), inviting participants in total 30 Iraqis. The purpose of the program is to introduce practical skills of cable jointing and optical fiber splicing to facilitate smooth rehabilitation and reconstruction works in the field of electricity.
