An announcement was made earlier this week by Nakheel subsidiary, Dubai Waterfront, that it had awarded Dubai- based Ghantoot Gulf Contracting a $100 million contract for grading work at the Dubai Waterfront development.

The grading work will reportedly take an estimated 18 months to complete, according to Khaleej Times. The project, which spans over more than 100 million square meters, is the world's largest waterfront development.

The first phase of the project, which will encompass the grading of the area, is expected to be completed by the first quarter of next year. Grading work will facilitate a number of subsequent construction activities in the upcoming months and marks the rapid progress of this development.

"Dubai Waterfront is being developed by an international consortium of the world's best architects, planners and urban developers whose goal was to create a destination and communities never before seen and experience in Dubai, or the world,” stated Matt Joyce, Managing Director of Dubai Waterfront.

“We have assembled a team of highly reputable and experienced consultants who we have very carefully selected based on a number of criteria — most importantly their ability to share our passion and commitment to this project.

The project is now moving full steam ahead with new developments taking place practically every month. It is very fulfilling and gratifying to see our grand vision taking shape," Joyce added.
