20 million palm trees in Saudi Arabia

Abdullah Al-Dakheil, local date specialist, estimates the current date production of Saudi Arabia at 800,000 tons per annum, valued at seven-14 billion Saudi Riyals ($1.8-3.7 billion). Date output is expected to grow to two million tons per annum within three to five years valued at SR 20-40 billion ($5.3 billion - $10.6 billion), reported Al-Hayat.
