Official statistics show that 218 Jordanian companies are investing in Egyptian markets and 17 Jordanian companies are investing in Egyptian free trade zones. The total capital invested in Jordanian-Egyptian projects is estimated at $496.5 million, of which $134.1 million is Jordanian capital, which is equivalent to 27 percent, reported Al-Bayan.
Jordanian-Egyptian trade reached $72.3 million last year, up from $67.3 million in the previous year of 2000, a seven percent growth. The Egyptian Jordanian Joint Commercial Commission is targeting a $150 million bilateral trade volume for 2003. — (menareport.com)
