Well over twenty thousand employees in public companies slated for privatization have not received their salaries in the past six months, and some have not even been paid in the past year for work done, according to the opposition Algerian news source, Liberte Algerie.
The news of these company employees overshadows new employment data which reveals that unemployment in Algeria is actually falling. Labour issues remain a controversial point in the country as there are still large numbers of under age children working in industry.
