$572 million to fund new electricity station in Qatar

A number of international banks recently agreed to provide the financing for the electricity generation and water desalinizing station in Ras Laffan, Qatar. The ANZ Investment Bank, Arab Banking Corporation, Barclays Capital, Bank National Du Pari Paribas, Gulf International Bank, HSBC Middle East, Societe Generale, Tokyo Bank, Mitsubishi Bank and the Japanese Industrial Bank will provide $572.2 million credit for the station which is expected to generate 750 megawatts of electrical power and 1,481.844 cubic meters of water per day, reported Al-Bayan . — (menareport.com)
