$60 million spent on advertisement in Saudi Arabia during Ramadan

Sources in the advertisement and marketing circles of Riyadh estimate the total Saudi spending on advertisement and commercials during the Holy Month of Ramadan at 225 million Saudi riyals ($60 million), reported Al-Hayat newspaper. These sources revealed that all the operating companies in Saudi Arabia usually intensify their advertisement and promotional campaigns and spending during the Ramadan, even if their products and services are not directly related or consumed in this month.  

 

In addition, they estimated the value of the advertisement and commercials market in Saudi Arabia all year round at $400 million. The various operating companies in Saudi Arabia usually spend up to 15 percent of their advertisement budget during the Holy Month of Ramadan.  

 

The estimated annual spending on advertisement and commercials in the Arabian Gulf states was valued at $1.4 billion. The local televisions capture 40 percent of these spending, the newspapers control 38 percent, the magazines capture 17 percent and the remaining share is captured by other media. -- (Albawaba-MEBG)
