70 Taiwan firms to participate in GITEX

A group of exhibitors representing 70 information technology companies from Taiwan have confirmed their participation in the upcoming GITEX exhibition, reported Al-Bayan newspaper. This event will be held in Dubai between October 28th and November 1st.  


Taiwan is considered to be the world’s third largest information technology exporting country, following the US and Japan. Last year, $47 billion worth of IT products were exported from Taiwan. 


A wide range of IT products from Taiwan will be displayed in the upcoming exhibition, including the latest advances in main boards, peripherals, memory modules and multimedia accessories.  


In 1999, the number of participants hailing from Taiwan totaled 62, second in line after the192 local participants. The UK was third, represented by 60 delegates. According to statistics provided by the official GITEX site, 54.4 percent of the exhibition’s visitors arrived with the intent of evaluating products and services presented at the event. — (Albawaba-MEBG)
