During the last three months, Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) has given its principal approvals for construction of 2,261 new hotel rooms in the Emirate, reported the September 12 edition of Al-Bayan daily. Of this total number, 763 are rooms in hotel apartments.
According to the report, the Licensing and Classification Department at Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority received more than 115 requests from new investors or existing firms for additions or extensions.
Some 40 of these requests referred to construction of hotels, 66 of them referred to hotel apartments and nine of them related to tourist resorts.
