The Abu Dhabi Gas Co. (Atheer), which is part of the Abu Dhabi National Gas Company (Adnoc) Group, has announced plans to increase its total gas processing capacity to 3 billion cubic feet per day in 2001.
Atheer also said that it plans to supply gas to Dubai itself, via a 112-km, 48-inch pipeline.
Atheer was established in July 1999 to process natural gas and distribute it to consumers inside the UAE.
Additionally, it undertakes associated infrastructural work, including the laying and repairing of the company's pipelines.
Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, Adnoc, was established in 1971 to operate in all sectors of the oil and gas industry.
Adnoc is supervised by the country’s Supreme Petroleum Council (SPC), which sets the country’s oil related policy and oversees the operations of the oil, gas and related industries. – (Albawaba-MEBG)
