Abu Dhabi latest trade figures reviewed

Abu Dhabi's non-oil trade has increased by 0.6 percent over the first quarter of 2001, compared with the corresponding period of the previous year, according to the Emirate’s customs bureau. Non-oil trade rose from 5.791 billion Emirati dirhams ($1.576 billion) to Dh 5.823 billion during this period.  

 

Of the total commerce value, non-oil exports entering Abu-Dhabi rose to Dh 329.1 million in Q1 2001, up from Dh 301 million the previous year, reflecting a 9.2 percent increase. The report revealed, however, that the value of imports from Abu-Dhabi dropped 0.58, from Dh 5.287 billion in Q1 2000 to Dh 5.256 billion in the first quarter of 2001. 

 

A rise of 17.4 percent was recorded for the Emirate’s re-export value, climbing to Dh 237.4 million in the first quarter of 2001, up from Dh 202.2 million in the corresponding period the previous year. ― (MENA Report)
