AC Delco, the world's leader in automobile spare parts, aims to expand in the Middle Eastern market. As part of this move, it plans to open a new express service center in the Jordanian capital, Amman, A-Safir daily reported.

By inaugurating this center, AC Delco would operate a total of 12 centers in the Middle East. The ultimate target of AC Delco is to establish a regional service network of over 40 centers.

In December of 1999, nine service centers were launched in Saudi Arabia. The centers are owned by the local Aljomaih Co., the leading GM dealer in the Arab Gulf countries. Earlier in 1999, AC Delco announced its bid to establish three new maintenance centers in the UAE, in addition to its existing center in Sharjah. The investment cost per center is estimated at $250,000.
