Acer Computer (M.E.) Ltd. on Monday announced the Middle East availability of two new Folio notebooks. The TravelMate 3200 designed for corporate professionals and the Aspire 1680 for consumers, will further strengthen Acer’s position in the regional market.
Both notebooks are based on the Folio concept, with the Aspire 1680 focusing heavily on entertainment applications and the TravelMate 3200 featuring enhanced mobility and functionality.
“Acer is the number one vendor in Saudi Arabia for sales of notebook PCs and we are close to taking the top spot in the UAE,” said Philip Ashkar, sales and marketing director, Acer Computer (M.E.) Ltd. “These new models have been designed with the end-user firmly in mind, and we expect to gain even further market share.”
Figures from international analyst group IDC have shown that Acer is performing well against its competitors across the region in sales of notebooks. In the Kingdom, Acer is clearly the number one vendor taking 22.7 percent of the market share, while in the UAE the company is nearly tied for the number one position. (menareport.com)
