A new notebook computer looks set to drive increased mobile computing usage by Middle East small office and home office (SOHO) users during 2004. The TravelMate 2000 series, the newest notebook in the value segment, was designed by Acer Computer specifically to deliver a balance between performance and functionality at a competitive price.

“There is an intense demand in the Middle East SOHO market for a well-balanced solid notebook that can both be used as a work and entertainment tool providing improved productivity at an affordable price,” said Graham Braum, business development manager notebooks, Acer Computer (M.E.) Ltd. “First-time notebook users are looking for a blend between performance and connectivity and we expect the TravelMate 2000 series to be one of our biggest value offerings during 2004.”

More Middle Easterners are enjoying using mobile technology, and Acer is taking the lead in the notebook sector by regularly introducing new models targeted at the region’s specific market requirements. The TravelMate 2000 series is earmarked to be popular with students as well as SOHO users.(menareport.com)
