Al-Aqsa Fund allocates $11 million to victims of West Bank separation fence

The Management Committee of the Al-Aqsa and Al-Quds Funds has endorsed an allocation of $20 million to finance educational, health and water supply projects for West Bank and Gaza residents affected by the separation fence.  

 

The program is jointly financed by the Islamic Development Bank (IDB), the Aqsa Fund and other bodies. The Committee also endorsed a joint initiative with the Saudi Development Fund, the OPEC Fund and AGFUND to allocate another $20 million to finance small-scale project development in the occupied territories. Al-Aqsa Fund and IDB have contributed seven million dollars and three million dollars respectively to the project. 

 

The total amount disbursed by both funds to projects and programs for the Palestinian people stands at $127 million. Moreover, some $480 million was disbursed in 2001-2002 to subsidize the budget of the Palestine National Authority. — (menareport.com)
